With the eruption of Grower Champagnes into the UK we now have a whole category of Champagnes that reveal not just the hand of the winemaker but also the hand that has worked the vines.
Vignerons are typically fiercely proud of their vineyards, the
vines, the soil and the complex relationship between them. For the
majority of the farmers in Champagne that's where the journey stops
for them. The grapes get shipped off to market or to the co-op and
transformed into a wine that is a step removed from the land.
Join us for one of four 45-minute masterclasses taking place on 7
June at our Great Portland Street store, offering a chance to taste
a range of Grower Champagnes and discover the terroir of the region
with Cameron Foster, the founder of Deux Six. Deux Six is a wine
importer with a focus on terroir driven wines and Grower Champagnes
in particular. Cameron's passion and knowledge for these wines is a
joy to share.
The lineup for these masterclasses will feature Domaine Lagille
L'innatendue, Elemart Robion VB03 Extra Brut and Champagne Salmon
100% Meunier Rose, wines that celebrate the Pinot Meunier grape.
Rounding out the line-up we have a majestic expression from the
fabled Cotes des Blanc Grand Cru village of Les Mesnil sur Oger
with Philippe Glavier Genesis.
