Wine has been roughly divided into new world and old, but there is often much more in common across that divide than in either camp. The wines of Italy and Argentina are a case in hand. These are countries that have a reputation for producing big, bold wines and have been stereotyped by their most popular styles. Looking beyond Malbec and Chianti reveals wine making cultures with incredible history and character.
On 5 June at our Great Portland Street shop, Dawn Davies MW will be joined by Luca Dusi from Passione Wines and Laurie Webster from Ucopia Wines for a deep dive into the ties between Italy and Argentina.
These two winemaking countries have more in common that a stereotype for big, powerful wines. The panel will taste wines that look not only at similar varieties and styles but also at their shared challenges and outlooks.
This will be a sit-down masterclass with a curated range of wines to taste.
